Fabulous! Hands down BEST company I have worked with in years. Immediate response by their sales rep Robert. Looking back from the finished project- Robert had a perfectly realistic initial expectation of time and cost. He was so responsive to any questions while I was getting other quotes and feeling out other companies. The project started when they said it would. Stress free because everything was written out in detail and agreed upon. No surprises. Materials were ready. The project manager Sheldon was professional, timely, available, knowledgeable- everything you need in a project manager. He managed all situations quickly and proficiently. I could count on him. Raul and the rest of the crew were respectful, efficient, particular, knowledgeable, detail oriented- everything you wish a crew would be. I was so impressed with the whole project. I’d hire them again without hesitation. James & Whitney gets 5 stars for hiring reliable & respectable employees.

The sales process was easy without pressure. The communication for scheduling was great and they arrived as planned. The roofing job was completed in one day as promised. Clean up was done properly. Overall very pleased with the roofing job they did for me in Kennebunk, Maine. I would recommend them to others for sure.

Customer service is phenomenal. There was a crew subcontracted from Mass that were Spanish-speaking. Seemed to do a decent job, wind did blow off some cap shingles, the company came back out immediately and fixed everything. As I said, the customer service was phenomenal. The pricing seemed competitive for our roof compared to other estimates.

James & Whitney recently performed a complete roofing and siding job on our house. The roofing was exemplary. The siding not so much. We decided to go with the best siding (everlast) and we were sold on the fact that the work performed would be completed by qualified professionals. To our surprise the final result was less than satisfactory. The project manager came out a second time with a "qualified " crew and still the job was unsatisfactory. We are waiting for this matter to be resolved. Would I recommend this siding to others???? Not unless you know the crew putting it up is highly trained and knowledgeable in what they are doing. We are out 60K+ for the siding alone. I am providing pictures of the quality of work that we were left with. Update 11/14/25: Added more photos of the lingering concerns. Quality manager said that they are done dealing with us and we need to understand that a house shifts which will cause this. They are going to color match caulk the siding to appease us. Please take warning that it is not a true statement that they have a 5 year workmanship garuntee on work performed. The customer service from the quality manager is less than satisfactory, the everlast product is probably nice when the siding company puts it up correctly.

Outstanding customer service and professionalism! In August 2023 James & Whitney replaced the roof and did some gutter repair on my circa 1783 house. I was very pleased - their bid was significantly less than a well-regarded competitor, salesman Shayne was helpful and courteous, and supervisor Brandon & his crew executed the job professionally, quickly, and with excellent results. Recently I noticed that one of my gutters wasn’t properly placed, but I couldn’t recall if that section had been within the scope of the repair work so I reached out to the James & Whitney office. The woman who spoke with me responded courteously and said she would have someone follow up. Brandon called me promptly and recalled the problem from 2 years ago in detail, reminding me that repairing that section had not been part of my contract and that he had discussed it with me at the time. He was correct. Nonetheless he offered to send his gutter guys to take a look when available. Imagine my surprise when Geoffrey and crew pulled into my driveway later that afternoon with their fully equipped truck and cheerfully repaired that section of gutter on the spot at no charge to me! I truly am thrilled to have received such genuinely 5-star customer service from the good folks at James & Whitney Co. Highly recommend!
