⚠️ Please use caution when considering United Home Experts. Their lack of accountability and poor communication turned what should have been a straightforward and exciting project into a frustrating, disappointing and costly experience. We hired United Home Experts to modify two door openings and add new doors and to replace an existing door with modern high-end doors. Unfortunately, the project was plagued with errors, poor communication, and a lack of accountability. One of the doors we selected was ordered with a 6" jamb depth, even though our walls are only 4". This critical detail was never explained to us until after the non-refundable door had been ordered. To make matters worse, the same door was also ordered swinging in the wrong direction. Full disclosure, I did sign a contract which showed the wrong door swing, I do not argue this point, but prior to the order, I received a message in United’s online portal noting a discrepancy in their notes about door swing and the contract but the wording and schematics were written in shorthand that I couldn’t understand. I replied asking for clarification before the order was placed, but I never received a response. The door was ordered anyway — and the company refused to take any responsibility, even though my documented request for clarification is in their system. Other issues included: * Damage during installation: One new door was cracked in the frame during installation. While the company offered a discount for this damage, I am now left with a damaged “brand new” door. * Disorganized communication: We were contacted through a confusing mix of text messages, emails, portal messages, and phone calls from at least five different representatives. This lack of consistent communication undoubtedly contributed to errors. * Lack of transparency in billing: Despite repeated requests, the company would not provide an itemized invoice separating door/hardware costs from labor and materials. This seemed unusual and made it difficult to understand what we were actually paying for and if "discounts" were just a small dent in mark-up. * Trim/Finishing: United was unable to match our home’s custom trim and flooring. The attempt to blend with existing finishes and trim is close, but does not match the other trim. Overall, the company did not do a good job explaining door specifications to the average homeowner, which led to costly mistakes, additional re-orders, and a project timeline that doubled. While they offered a discount on one replacement door, the original wrong door remained full price — leaving me with an expensive, unusable door that does not fit my home. Even after I wrote a formal letter to management, my concerns were never acknowledged which I found very interesting since they seem to be responsive to their google reviews. After more than six months, our project is technically “finished,” but I am left with regret, a damaged new door, and an extra door that I have no use for and will likely have to sell for a big loss.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. My experience with United Home Experts (UHE) was a complete nightmare. The project was supposed to include new Everlast siding, trim, and 10 new windows (not replacements), with a quoted cost of $63,000 and a timeline of 2 weeks. Yes, UHE did complete the initial installation in 2 weeks—working late into the night under exterior lights—but every single aspect of the work had to be repaired or reinstalled. The project ultimately took 18 months to complete due to poor workmanship and repeated mistakes. Major Issues: Roofline Trim Missing: Despite the scope calling for full exterior replacement, UHE did not include the roofline trim. They later charged me extra as an “add service.” Siding Installation Poorly Done: The Everlast siding was cut too short on every side of the house, leaving gaps between boards and windows or trim, exposing the Tyvek. One entire side of the house had to be redone—twice—and still had short boards and visible Tyvek. Nail Holes Unfilled: Nail holes in the trim were not filled. When I asked about it, UHE told me to hire a painter—even though the trim and siding are both paintless materials. They later agreed to fill some high nail holes with caulk, which has already discolored. Incorrect Fasteners Used: They used the wrong nails (non-galvanized), which rusted. Portions of trim had to be pulled down and reinstalled multiple times, leaving boards full of visible plugs. Trim Boards Reinstalled Up to 5 Times: Some trim pieces were installed and removed so many times they were ruined. All 10 Windows Improperly Installed: Every window had bowed sills with large gaps beneath. UHE tried to cover the gaps with massive beads of caulk, which yellowed and cracked within weeks. The window manufacturer eventually sent a rep to inspect and confirmed the windows were installed incorrectly, causing the bowing. Terrible Coordination and Responsiveness: I asked about including a door in the project and was told not to bother, because bringing in the door crew would be “too expensive.” When I hired someone else, it became a coordination nightmare. Final Summary: Yes, UHE “finished” the install in 2 weeks—but then spent the next 72 weeks fixing their rushed, sloppy work. For a company that charges premium prices, the quality was absolutely unacceptable. While they were willing to come back and fix issues, the fixes were often just Band-Aids on serious problems. You will need to double-check everything they do. Save yourself the stress and money—hire someone else.

We are super happy with the work the crew from United did. What a difference! We love the new look and quality of the doors and windows. It's like a full face lift and the contrast of the grey siding with white trim, fantastic! Garth was wonderful to work with. He always responded right away to any questions or concerns we had. He has a great sense of humor too! The men in his crew were respectful and kind. They are hard workers, so fast and efficient! Start to finish they replaced the siding, windows, doors and roof in a total of 12 days! The roof was done in half a day. Very impressive! I have already recommended to a friend that they look into United for their home, and I will happily share our experience with everyone. Thank you!!!

I met with Andrew to discuss replacing my roof and exterior door. He was very professional yet friendly and accommodating. He was thorough and explained everything that needed to be done and would be done, the various options and costs. I was so pleased that I canceled the appointment I had with a different roofer and scheduled a meeting for work to be done at another property. The entire experience, from the initial phone call and scheduling to the signing of the contract was a pleasure. I highly recommend both Andrew and United Home Experts.
